What inspired you to start writing?
I was born with a gift and when I moved into my country home in 2006 my gift really came alive. I was first approached by Cole and his Sergeant dressed in full British Military uniforms from the year 1822 carrying rifles with bayonets attached to the ends. Private Cole spoke to me and when the soldiers realised that not only could I see them but could hear them as well...my nights were never the same. Since that evening I have been approached by modern day spirits of fallen soldiers each with a unique story to show me through their eyes so that I can capture their experiences of warfare that they want me to share. Their stories are both important and captivating showing the real cause and effect of wars. Will we learn from them? Only time will tell.

Can you tell us a little about your latest book?
Whoops! Looks like I said it all above...
-
How do you create your characters?
My characters are real people starting from the Soldier on the cover of "The ECHOING GUN" a man that has dedicated his whole life to serving and protecting our country from those that threaten to take away or freedoms; and each character between the book covers are real people as well. Names are real, people are real and the story is real!

What does your typical writing day look like?
Spirits of fallen soldiers come to me around 12 midnight and onwards through the night when the veil between our two worlds, the spirit world and our world is the thinnest. I listen to each and every one of the fallen soldiers and then put pen to paper in the mornings when I wake up. It has been the most exciting project that I have ever worked on and will continue to work on until the last spirit of a fallen soldier has spoken!

What has been the most rewarding part of being an indie author?
I am loving being a part of the Indie platform and look forward to many more years with them!
-
What’s one challenge you’ve faced in your writing journey?
My writing journey went off without a hitch. My only challenge is to honour the spirits voices by getting their messages out to the people.
-
Do you have any favorite writing tools or apps?
I love having a pretty covered journal on my night stand to capture important phrases and descriptions of clothing that sets each spirit apart; something that is unique to each fallen soldier that has shown themselves to me. It is very important to me to get the particulars right!

How do you handle book promotion as an indie author?
I am still searching for the perfect fit, someone that is sincere about the marketing of my heartfelt book. So far I have endured scammers etc. It seems the internet has opened the doorway for this but no matter good will come of it all I have faith. I feel lucky to have found a great and professional Facebook team with Omar Gomez the project manager for book marketing at a company named Social Verse! Without them I would be lost.

What’s next for you? Are you working on a new book?
I have been told by Suzanne Giesseman & Shawn Leonard both amazing mentors that my work in guiding spirits of fallen soldiers will take me a lifetime...hahaha! So I keep writing my visits down and keep great records for future books that will tell these important soldiers stories.
